Travel Midland Metro
Travel Midland Metro is the name of the company that operates the Midland Metro tram system between Birmingham and Wolverhampton in the UK. Travel Midland Metro is a fully owned subsidiary of the National Express Group, who also owns the local bus company National Express West Midlands. The Travel Midland Metro brand name and logo are not carried on trams and on other publicity, just 'the Metro' branding. Travel Midland Metro does not own the Midland Metro: it is owned by Centro, the West Midlands Passenger Transport Executive.
Future
Although National Express Group are rebranding their UK operations in 2008, this will not include the Midland Metro as the company does not own the system. On 4 February 2008 National Express said that this subsidiary company will retain its current name.
Extensions
- Wolverhampton Loop has been approved subject to funding.
